Two historic buildings were relocated on the site in 2004; positioned amongst beautiful expansive gardens with established trees, Birdwoods Gallery has become one of Hawke’s Bay’s most distinctive and delightful visitor attractions.
Our unique gallery showcases New Zealand and African art and craft, collectables, furniture, textiles, jewellery, ceramics and more. Do take the time to stop in at the cafe and enjoy our renowned lunch, tea, coffee and yummy cakes – bookings are recommended. Enjoy your treats inside the refurbished church or out in the manicured sculpture garden which showcases African and New Zealand stone and metal artists. Before you leave, take a step back in time to the traditional sweet shop, which is just like you remember!
