John’s House & The Pavilion

John's House & The Pavilion boutique accommodation

Two architectural gems are set in enormous lawns and gardens, only ten minutes' walk along the Karamu Stream from Havelock North village. Amazingly private, people can't believe how close to the village we are, yet still in a countryside setting. Cows and alpacas graze up to the fence, and a huge variety of native and exotic trees signal the changing seasons.

John’s House has two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The large living/dining area leads to a covered porch which provides shelter and shade. The kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining, with plenty of glasses and place settings. A fireplace, heat pump, Wi-fi, widescreen TV and digital sound system provide comfort and entertainment. The house was originally built for John and Pauline Pattison, and designed by iconic New Zealand architect, John Scott. The Pavilion, designed by award winning architect Pete Bosseley, was completed in early 2013. It reflects John Scott’s style, but on a smaller scale, with a large bedroom and adjoining kitchen-living areas. The covered porch provides a great sunny outdoor relaxation space. Both houses have gas barbecues. Your hosts, Nick and Judy Pattison live just along the Karamu Stream and aim to guarantee your complete privacy and provide any information on local attractions as required. The swimming pool is there for your use on the hottest days, and homemade breakfast provisions, fresh fruit and flowers are de rigueur.
