Havelock North High School Arts Festival and Reunion

To celebrate 40 years of the arts, Havelock North High School is holding a unique arts festival this September.

For the first time in its history, the school will hold several concerts where former students who have gone on to become nationally and internationally recognised artists will perform.

All proceeds raised will go towards the development of a modern performing arts centre at Havelock North High School – to support the next generation of artists, and become a cultural hub for the community.

Three major concerts will be held showcasing our musicians who have made their mark in genres as diverse as, opera, rock and folk music.

We are excited and proud to announce our headline acts:
• London-based mezzo-soprano Rhonda Browne
• Benson Wilson
• Thomas Oliver
• Andrew MacKenzie
• Ben Fulton
• Ben Throp and the Intimate Strangers
• Holly Ewens
• Tasmin Miller AKA The Chess Countess.

We will also celebrate our strong choral tradition with a performance of former choral students, who will come together from around the country and overseas, under renowned conductor and former music teacher Roger Stevenson.

The concerts will be a chance to see our emerging talent, with some fantastic performances by current students.

These are shaping up to be incredible concerts, and we are bursting with so much talent we have filled three separate shows.

This isn’t just a concert, but a special chance to catch up with old friends, and for that reason we are holding a cocktail function before the evening concerts.

The cocktail parties will run from 6pm-7.30pm, and you will get a welcome drink, canapes and entertainment. Cost $10. What better way to kick off a fabulous evening!

We only have limited tickets available to the concerts and cocktail party, so please don’t delay.

The Havelock North High Arts Festival will run from September 3rd to 25th and also include an art exhibition, musician and drama workshops for current students, and a drama performance. Watch out for more details on our website www.hnhsartsfestival.school.nz.
