The Business Breakfast Series is organised by Napier City Council and are offered to the business community of Hawke’s Bay quarterly. We encourage businesses large and small to attend and to learn from the range of inspiring business leaders that will speak and lead discussion on a variety of topics.
As a young 22 year old Ray McKimm drove five hours from Taupo to Paraparaumu to purchase a new lounge suite for his flat. Unknown to him this excursion would find him returning home with an empty trailer, but brimming with inspiration with a new business idea. After paying a 50% deposit, how could a furniture item take two years to deliver to a customer? This just wasn’t right. Ray saw a huge opportunity to do better than that and he did!
Join us to hear Ray McKimm, founder and Managing Director of Big Save Furniture talk about his humble beginnings and how Big Save has grown not only to the largest furniture retailer in New Zealand with 24 stores, but also to one of the largest property owners. With over 90 commercial tenants nationwide, Ray relies on his family and an amazing team to keep the business operating and progressing.
He will be the first to tell you it hasn’t been all plain sailing and he’s learnt a lot in his life. Find out what challenges Ray has faced and what he’s learnt in his business life.
He’s got a remarkable story to tell and has a great vision for Hawke’s Bay. Don’t miss this unique opportunity!
