The Bridge Pa Wine Festival.
Eight Wineries in the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District of Hawke’s Bay are running a collective wine festival. All wineries will be connected by Hop On/Hop Off Buses throughout the day, allowing patrons to visit multiple wineries and enjoy a multitude of wine experiences. Based on the original format of Harvest Hawke’s Bay, this festival has the added benefit of all the wineries being close by, allowing patrons to be no more than 5 minutes from the next venue.
Each Winery will offer a range of activities, including wine tasting, food, music and masterclasses. The wineries involved are Abbey Cellars, Alpha Domus, Ash Ridge, Hawkes Ridge, Ngatarawa, Paritua, Salvare and Sileni. Visit their websites to see the activities for the day.
Tickets are available from Eventfinda or at the cellar doors of participating wineries. There are three different tiers of tickets available:
General Admission – includes access to all wineries, festival glass and hop on/hop off buses around the wineries during the day – $30 per person.
General Admission (as above) plus bus transfer from Hastings Main Bus Stop, Eastbourne Street or Havelock North iSITE – $45 per person
General Admission (as above) plus bus transfer from Napier iSITE – $50 per person
Tickets are limited so be quick to book.
All tickets purchased before the 16th January 2015 go in to a draw to win a grand prize, in conjunction with MoreFM. This will be a scenic helicopter ride for two people, culminating in landing at one of the participating wineries to start your day at the festival.
Separate tickets will be available for masterclasses, see participating wineries for details.
First buses will depart from Napier at 9.30am and Hastings at 9.45am, return buses will start departing from participating wineries from 4pm. Last bus will depart at 5.15pm. This event will go ahead rain or shine, it will not be cancelled for weather.
This event is restricted to people over the age of 18, proof of ID will be required before festival passes are issued. The wineries promote the responsible consumption of alcohol. Food and non alcoholic drinks will be available at all participating wineries. Any person that exhibits signs of intoxication will be asked to leave the festival.
Limited parking is available at wineries on the day for patrons not using the transfer bus service from Hastings/Napier. Alternatively organise a taxi/bus through one of the local taxi operators.
