Welcome to The Straw Bale House - the perfect place to stay in the heart of Hawkes Bay. Completed in October 2010, this self-contained accommodation not only offers excellent facilities, beautiful views and complete privacy, but also the wonderful aesthetic and environmental characteristics of straw bale construction.

Set in the hills above the Heretaunga Plains, The Straw Bale House is five minutes from the centre of Havelock North village with easy access to beaches, wineries, restaurants, bike and walking tracks and the many other activities Hawkes Bay has to offer.

The Straw Bale House is set in 4 acres of private garden with views to the Ruahines and Mt Ruapehu. The environmentally friendly straw bale construction offers amazing insulation - the house is warm in winter, cool in summer and has a very special atmosphere. The decks and outdoor living areas offer many options for all weather conditions including a large covered area. There is endless solar hot water and the wood burner fire also has a wetback to supplement the sun in the winter.
